Trevor Skempton is an architect, artist and urban designer, based in North Wales and Liverpool. He has a wide experience of public sector work, including periods as Head of Architecture in Birmingham [1997-2000], City Architect in Newcastle [1990-1993] and Chief Architect in Barrow-in-Furness [1981-1987]. He has also worked for authorities in Scotland, Wales and Yorkshire, and in private practice in Liverpool. He was Urban Design Consultant to Liverpool City Council from 2003 until 2009, with a particular focus on Liverpool One and other city centre projects.
Since 2010, he has
served as a Commissioner [board member] of the Design Commission of Wales. He
is also on the Council of the Merseyside Civic Society and is a Past President
of the Liverpool Architectural Society.
